Spotlight on Branka Cubrilo
I had the pleasure of meeting Branka at the Lunch with Writers event. She struck me as someone similar to me, a multicultural person with a love of languages (she’s fluent in four languages), fearlessly exploring new themes in her writing.
Branka started her writing career young. At the age of eighteen she wrote her first novel “I Knew Jane Eyre,” which won the Young Writers Award in 1985.
Apart from writing novels, Branka writes short stories, poems and articles, and works as a radio producer in Eastside Radios Sydney and Special Broadcasting Services – SBS – Sydney, where she has produced a number of programs and serials, and conducted many interviews.
Branka’s latest novel, Fiume – the Lost River, was published as she was editing her recently completed book Thirty Years of Pia.
I thank Branka for taking the time to answer a few questions for NeedHelpWriteNow.
